WINLET 350 WINS INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD FOR ROBOTICS
The Winlet 350 Glass Robot has recently won the prestigious Good Design Award 2011 from the Chicago Athenaeum for the category of Robotics / Bionics.
The Good Design Award, is one of the foremost international awards of its type and is awarded each year with previous winners including Apple and Phillips along with some other well known global brands.
The Winlet 350 was released in Australia in 2011 enabling the easy and effective transport and placement of glass or windows weighing up to 350kg by a single person.
The Winlet 350 virtually eliminates all health and safety risk attributable to the manual carrying and placement of glass and other problematic materials such as granite, plasterboards, steel plates, tiles and fire doors.
“The Winlet 350 combines functionality and design with many competences required at the same time” with the unit also described as “a fine example of new generation Danish designed export products”.
In Denmark workers may not lift more than 25kgs with legislation on the environment and working conditions particularly strict requiring companies and designers to find optimal solutions to ensure work related injuries are kept to a minimum.
The Winlet 350 was officially launched in Australia at the AUSFENEX 2011 trade show and was the ONLY self propelled glass lifter on display at this event for the Australian Window Association (AWA) and the Australian Glass and Glassing Association (AGGA).
